Annabelle Priftis (15) will perform at the National Day of Mourning - Together for Victoria with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra on Sunday 22nd February. Annabelle says, it’s my toughest performance yet for so many reasons but mostly I will be thinking of families who are grieving the loss of not just their homes but friends, families and pets. I am proud to have seen our nation rally to try to bring peace and spiritual encouragement to those who survived. I am glad our Prime Minister, our Premier and Princess Anne will attend to help us begin the healing process. A National Day of Mourning - Together for Victoria will be televised live on ABC TV, Network Ten, GTV 9, SBS, the Seven Network and Sky News. Radio coverage will be transmitted throughout Australia on 3AW and ABC and streamed on the internet at www.premier.vic.gov.au. Together for Victoria - will be held at Rod Laver Arena and surrounds at 11am (AEDT) on Sunday to honour the victims and to recognize the courage and efforts of emergency service workers. It will be hosted by ABC journalist Ian Henderson and televised live on the three commercial networks as well as the ABC. Melbourne's Sidney Myer Music Bowl will open from 10am to view the memorial service live. It will also be screened at Waterfront City, Docklands Thousands of Victorians will gather in Melbourne and a string of bushfire scorched townships as part of the memorial events for at least 201 people who died in the February 7 infernos.
